Dr Faheem  Latheef grew up in Sweden and India before moving to the UK to undertake his undergraduate medical training (MBCHB) at the University of Manchester. Having graduated from the University of Manchester he then undertook his postgraduate training at the Central Manchester University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust rotating through various hospital specialities and culminating in completion of his medical membership exam (MRCP). He then went on to gain a National Training Number to specialise in Dermatology in the Leeds training programme where he developed his interest in Allergy and Skin Cancer. Whilst in Leeds, he completed his Dermatology training (CCST) and also obtained his Dermatology Specialist examination certification (MRCP Dermatology).

 

He is also one of the few doctors in the country to also hold a Masters in Business Administration (MBA) degree with his masters thesis focusing on Competitive Healthcare Strategies in the NHS allowing him to get a better understanding of Healthcare Management and use of resources, and is able to offer his services to Healthcare Providers looking to enhance their quality, efficiency and patient experience with new and innovative strategies.

 

His main clinical interests are in the subjects of skin allergy, with the use of specialised tests such as cutaneous patch testing and skin prick testing, as well as the diagnosis and treatment of skin cancers. In his NHS practice he also regularly sees patient with general dermatology and inflammatory skin conditions including Acne, Psoriasis, Eczema, Alopecia, nail disorders and other rashes. 

 

Having spent time in a number of different countries and interacted with people from all walks of life, he is able to draw on these experiences in his consultations and easily able to establish rapport with his patients allowing him to effectively explore their ideas, concerns and expectations.  His experiences have also allowed him to spend time in some of the centres of excellence in skin allergy in Sweden and draw upon their research and practice.
